It has been over 3 months since the first day I arrived Montreal. To be honest I really miss the flavors of our cuisine. In an attempt I found an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in town, which is also run by “Vietnamiens”.
The restaurant offers a variety of choices, however, I ordered Phở, the renowned national dish and it was out of this world. It tastes like in my favorite eatery back home. Now I know why people love it although Vietnamese cuisine is not all about Phở, there are many more to discover.
Phở is also known as noodle soup. The broth is a symphony of ingredients: grilled ginger, garlic and onion, roasted cinamon, black pepper and star anise, with beef or chicken bones. Then we simmer for hours to get the most of them. The broth is then seasoned with sugar, salt, fish sauce and it is served with noodles (of course), you can add basil, culantro, beansprouts, scallion, a slice of lemon, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, satay sauce. What you can do now is mixing them together and… enjoy!!!

I have found my favorite place in Montreal and I cannot wait to come back and taste the other dishes here. If you have time, you can check it out at 7000 8th avenue, Montreal H2A3C4
